Tremors felt in Lahad Datu


LAHAD DATU: Residents in this district felt tremors caused by a mild earthquake with a magnitude of 3.6 on the Richter scale that occurred in the waters off eastern Sabah at 2.11pm yesterday.

Lahad Datu Fire and Rescue Station chief Sumsoa Rashid said the department has yet to receive any emergency calls related to tremors resulting from the quake.

The Meteorological Department in a statement said that the epicentre of the quake was at a depth of 10km, positioned at coordinates 6.2 degrees north and 118.4 degrees east.
