Police nab two men in connection with Skudai restaurant brawl


JOHOR BARU: Two men have been arrested by the police to help with investigations following a brawl at a restaurant in Taman Impian Emas in Skudai.

Johor Baru North OCPD Asst Comm Balveer Singh said the first arrest was made at 12.15am in Jalan Putih, Skudai on Sunday (Jan 28).

The second arrest was also made on the same day at 1am at a house in Masai, Pasir Gudang.

“Both suspects, aged 40 and 38, have prior records and are currently under remand from Jan 28 until Jan 31.

“We are still on the hunt for the remaining suspects who are still at large,” he said in a statement on Monday (Jan 29).

Earlier, on Jan 27, it was reported that the police were looking for a group of men linked to a brawl.

The case is being investigated under Section 148 of the Penal Code for rioting, which carries a maximum jail term of five years, a fine, or both upon conviction.

A 45-second video showing a group of men fighting using tables and chairs at a restaurant was shared on WhatsApp.
