Body of foreign woman found on PJ apartment staircase


PETALING JAYA: The body of a 19-year-old foreign woman was discovered on the staircase of an apartment at Desa Mentari.

Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Fakhrudin Abdul Hamid said the body was found by a man at about 6.30am on Monday (Jan 29).

"A medical team from Hospital Sungai Buloh and pathologists from Universiti Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC) had gone to the scene and discovered there were wounds to the victim's neck, chest and both hands.

"We are classifying the case under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder," he said in a statement on Tuesday (Jan 30).

ACP Mohamad Fakhrudin said police are in the midst of identifying the suspect and the motive behind the murder.
