Dr Wee expresses gratitude towards King, Queen


PETALING JAYA: MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong has expressed his gratitude and best wishes to Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah who ended their reign as the 16th Yang di-Pertuan Agong and the Raja Permaisuri Agong on Tuesday (Jan 30).

In a Facebook post, Dr Wee said he also prayed for their well-being and good health.

"Happy departure back to Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah.

"Highest gratitude for all the services and concern of both Majesties for the people.

"I also pray that both Majesties, as well as the princes, princesses and relatives of the royal family, will always be in the protection and grace of God, live long and be in good health," he said.

Al-Sultan Abdullah, 64, took the oath of office as the 16th Yang di-Pertuan Agong on Jan 31, 2019.

He will be replaced by the Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar, who has been elected as the 17th Yang di-Pertuan Agong for five years starting Wednesday (Jan 31).
