Lorry spills oil palm causing traffic congestion in PD

PORT DICKSON: Traffic at the resort town here was temporarily brought to a near standstill when the driver of a trailer lorry laden with oil palm fruits lost control of the vehicle causing it to fall on its side.

Port Dickson OCPD Supt Aidi Sham Mohamed said the crash caused the lorry to spill its cargo which caused damage to three cars.

"The lorry was heading towards Seremban from Sepang when the driver suddenly lost control along a turn near the Lukut traffic lights.

"Three cars which had stopped at the junction were damaged by the falling oil palm fruits," he said in a statement.

The spilt cargo had also caused a section of the road to be blocked.

Supt Aidi Sham said no one was injured in the mishap.

The incident is being investigated under rule 10 of the Road Traffic Rules 1959.
