KUALA LUMPUR: His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar of Johor has safely arrived in the federal capital to take the oath of office as the 17th Yang di-Pertuan Agong at Istana Negara on Wednesday (Jan 31).
The private plane carrying His Majesty from the Senai International Airport landed at the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) Air Base in Subang, near here, at around 9.40am.

Sultan Ibrahim was welcomed upon arrival by the Raja Muda of Selangor Tengku Amir Shah Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah and Tengku Laksamana Selangor Tengku Sulaiman Shah Almarhum Sultan Salahuddin.
Comptroller of the Royal Household of Istana Negara Major-General Datuk Indera Zahari Mohd Ariffin, Chief Protocol Officer of the Malaysian Government Datuk Rozainor Ramli and RMAF Subang Air Base commander Colonel Yusri Jamari were also present.
His Majesty then walked past a static honour guard mounted by two officers and 26 men from the 1st Battalion Royal Rangers Regiment, who performed the Royal Salute.
Accompanying His Majesty was Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin as minister-in-attendance.

Thousands of people also gathered outside the RMAF air base to welcome the arrival of Sultan Ibrahim, waving affectionately to His Majesty as the motorcade headed towards Istana Negara.
Earlier, it was reported that the Regent of Perlis Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail had arrived at Istana Negara at 9.35am followed by Pahang Regent Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and Selangor Ruler Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim was also seen arriving at Istana Negara at about 9.30am. - Bernama
