Teacher, contractor pleads guilty to using fake documents to make claims in Sabah

KOTA KINABALU: A senior teacher and a contractor in Semporna pleaded guilty to using false documents to make claims amounting to RM1,300 for an event over six years ago.

Rozaiman Basari, 45, was accused of using fake documents as supporting documents on Aug 8, 2018, for a company to make payment claims for a religious event in SMK Datuk Panglima Abdullah, Semporna.

Contractor Mohd Shakuddin Samsudin was accused of collaboration with Rozaiman for the same offences.

Both Rozaiman and Shakuddin pleaded guilty to the charges made against them before Tawau Sessions Court Judge Jason Juga, on Wednesday (Jan 31).

On Sep 14, 2023, they were first charged with two offences under Section 471 of the Penal Code, which are punishable under Section 465 of the same law.

This law provides imprisonment for up to two years, a fine, or both, upon conviction.

Jason allowed both Rozaiman and Shakuddin a RM5,000 fine for each offence.

Both of them paid their fines.
