Dr Wee congratulates all 43 graduates from TAR EC College

PETALING JAYA: Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong has congratulated all 43 graduates from the Tunku Abdul Rahman Education Community College (TAR EC College).

The MCA president said TAR EC College had produced close to 3,000 early childhood educators.

"In future, prospective students can further their undergraduate studies in early childhood education through the programmes offered by Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (TAR UMT)," he said in a Facebook post on Saturday (Feb 3).

The Ayer Hitam MP said he also had the honour of witnessing Yong Zhi Cheng graduating on Saturday.

Yong also received the "best student" award during the ceremony.

"Yong discovered her real interests were not in science despite taking up those subjects in secondary school.

"Instead, she immensely enjoys her time spent with young children and teaching them.

"Two years ago, she decided to sign up for the Diploma in Early Childhood Education programme at TAR EC College.

"While Yong's parents initially wanted her to go into another profession that offers better remuneration, they showed great pride in their daughter's achievements," he said.

Dr Wee added that Yong is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education at TAR UMT before joining the workforce and becoming a kindergarten teacher.

"My very best wishes to the graduates as they move on to the next phase of life after graduation," Dr Wee said.
