PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) is tracking down Gafung Petroleum Sdn Bhd managing director Tang Kuok Sing to assist in a case being heard at Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court.
In a statement, the anti-graft body said Tang was needed as the main and crucial witness of the case.
However, the commission has been unable to locate him. Tang’s last known address is No 150, Lorong Lapangan Terbang 51, Jalan Lapangan Terbang, 93450 Kuching, Sarawak.
The MACC urges members of the public who know or have information regarding Tang’s whereabouts to contact the investigating officer, Zainan Sarif Marjan, at 03-8870 0331 or 019-8699 370 or email at zainan.sarif@sprm.gov.my.
The case being tried concerns a former executive staff member of Sapura Kencana Offshore Sdn Bhd who allegedly received bribes from Tang’s company, Gafung Petroleum, between 2012 and 2014 for the supply of fuel to vessels owned by Sapura Kencana Offshore, according to the MACC.
In June 2019, Gafung Petroleum signed a memorandum of agreement with Bintulu Port Sdn Bhd to strengthen the ship-to-ship fuel bunkering activities at Bintulu Port.
