Eight injured after car hits m-cyclists


KOTA KINABALU: Eight people were injured after a car collided with two motorcycles and crashed into a house in Jalan Kampung Dalab Pantai, Tambunan, in Sabah’s interior.

Among them were two occupants – a 48-year-old woman and a 45-year-old man, who sustained minor injuries.

Also injured during the 8.48pm incident on Sunday were the two motorcyclists, both aged 19, and the 45-year-old car driver and three passengers, aged four, five and 17.

Sabah Fire and Rescue Department officer Supt Riki Mohan Singh Ramday said all victims were sent to the hospital for further treatment.

Meanwhile in Semporna, a Pakistani motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a car at Jalan Gomak, Taman Sutera, at about 10.30am on Monday.

Amir Afzal was declared dead at the scene by medical officers while his pillion rider, 53-year-old Saadiah Othman, was rushed to the Semporna hospital in an ambulance after sustaining multiple injuries.

The driver of the car was not injured.
