IPOH: A Magistrate's Court here has set a new date, March 21, for mention of the murder case where a senior police officer allegedly crashed his car into a motorcycle, killing a Form Five student in Taman Jati last year.
Magistrate S. Punitha set the date on Wednesday (Feb 7) after DPP Afzainizam Abdul Aziz asked for more time so that documents important to the case could be obtained.
Deputy Supt Mohd Nazri Abdul Razak, 44, was charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder on Dec 18.

He was alleged to have committed the offence against Muhammad Zaharif Affendi Muhd Zamrie, 17, at Jalan Taman Jati, near SMK Jati, between 12.05pm and 12.40pm on Dec 15.
When met after the proceedings, Afzainizam said they would make a request to the Magistrate's Court to transfer the case to the High Court once all documents have been obtained.
A heavy police presence was seen at the court premises.
Members of the media were allowed to cover the proceeding this time. When DSP Mohd Nazri was charged, media access was restricted with only one representative per news agency allowed in the courtroom.
The suspect, who wore a black hoodie and face mask, was led to the courtroom by several policemen.
Also present were lawyers Datuk Wan Azmir Wan Majid and Zamri Idrus, who held a watching brief on behalf of the victim's family.
The late teenager’s brother Zarul Fitri Muhd Zamrie, 29, and several relatives were also present.
