Perak cops hunting for suspected molester

IPOH: Hilir Perak police are looking for a suspect who is believed to have outraged the modesty of a woman outside a beauty salon in Hutan Melintang.

Hilir Perak OCPD Asst Comm Ahmad Adnan Basri said the man is believed to be a local and is believed to have committed the offence at about 1.30pm on Jan 13.

"The man is said to have hugged the 22-year-old worker from behind and fondled her. The suspect then fled," he said in a statement on Wednesday (Feb 7).

"In our investigation, we obtained a closed-circuit television (CCTV) recording that captured the incident and also the man's face," he added.

ACP Ahmad Adnan said police have yet to find the suspect and are urging witnesses to come forward and assist with the investigation under Section 354 of the Penal Code.

"Those with information can contact investigating officer Sjn Shahzawani at 05-629 9222," he said.
