Malaysian Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Ministers extend Chinese New Year wishes in Mandarin


KUALA LUMPUR: In a show of harmony and unity, the Prime Minister and the Deputy Prime extended their Chinese New Year wishes in Mandarin during a Cabinet luncheon and yee sang tossing event.

In a video that was taken during the event, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim wished everyone “Happy New Year, Happy New Year, Good New Year, " while Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said, “I wish you increased wealth. I’m a Malay, you are Chinese, but we are all Malaysians, " both in Mandarin.

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, Agriculture and Food Security Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu and Foreign Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan also extended their Chinese New Year wishes in Mandarin.

The Cabinet luncheon and yee sang was hosted by Transport Minister Anthony Loke.
