KUALA LUMPUR: The recent disciplinary cases involving officers and personnel have both tarnished the image and diminished the public’s confidence in the police force, say Tan Sri Razarudin Husain.
The Inspector-General of Police said stern action must be taken at all levels to prevent such incidents from recurring.
“Once again, I repeat the reminder to myself and supervisors at all levels – be responsible in managing and monitoring our respective subordinates.
“We will not hesitate to take stern action against supervisors found to have failed in their supervision duties, as stipulated in Regulation 3C of the Public Officers (Conduct and Discipline) Regulations 1993,” he said.
Razarudin said this during his monthly assembly, organised by Bukit Aman’s Management Department, reported Bernama.
On Feb 2, Razarudin reportedly said all police commissioners, state police chiefs and district police chiefs are urged to strengthen Regulation 3C of the Public Officers (Conduct and Discipline) Regulations 1993 to enhance the quality of service delivery to the community.
He said RM31.44mil has been allocated this year for the implementation of training for police personnel, compared with RM22.09mil last year.
Razarudin said 1,968 courses, In-Service Training (LDP) and workshops were planned for this year, compared with 1,871 courses, LDP and workshops implemented last year.
“This increase clearly shows that the police are serious about improving the level of human resource competence,” he said.
