Cops arrest 11 people after JB brawl


JOHOR BARU: Police have arrested 11 individuals following a brawl at an entertainment centre in Taman Sutera Utama, here.

Johor Baru North OCPD Asst Comm Balveer Singh said the incident occurred on Sunday (Feb 11) at 12.09am due to a misunderstanding.

“We came across a video posted on TikTok showing a group of men and women fighting at a premise in Taman Sutera Utama, Skudai.

“The police received a report regarding the incident at 12.43am and have deployed a team from the Criminal Investigation Department, together with policemen from Taman Ungku Tun Aminah, to the location.

“11 people aged 22 to 33 believed to have been involved in the brawl were arrested,” he said in a statement on Tuesday (Feb 13).

All suspects are currently under remand from Feb 11 until Feb 14 to help with the investigation.

The case is being investigated under Section 148 of the Penal Code for rioting, which carries a maximum jail term of five years, a fine, or both upon conviction.

Earlier, a three-minute video showing a group of men and women fighting was posted on TikTok by the username 'sathan1106’.
