A FARMER in Kampung Jongok Batu, Hulu Dungun in Terengganu is worried not just for his cattle but also for his own life after another cow was attacked by a panther last week.

Mat Yazid Mat Husin, 62, told Kosmo! that his cow died from the attack while its calf, which managed to escape from the panther, suffered serious injuries on its back.

“Most of my cattle died from the panther’s attacks last year.

“Not only am I suffering losses but I am also worried that I will be the next victim,” he was quoted as saying.

Mat Yazid added that he is afraid to work on his farm which is located near the jungle.

Terengganu Wildlife and National Parks Department (Perhilitan) director Loo Kean Seong said traps have been set since the middle of last year to capture the panther.
