Close call with burial

A WOMAN in India shocked her family by sitting up minutes before she was due to be buried, Makkal Osai reported.

Pujjiamma, 52, was severely injured when her house in Odisha went up in flames on Feb 1.

She was discharged from the hospital 10 days later when her family could not afford to keep her there.

They brought her home to care for her themselves.

On Feb 12, she apparently did not wake up. The family accepted she had passed away when they could not detect any signs of life.

They arranged for her funeral and her “body” was brought to the cemetery after the burial rituals.

However, she surprised them by waking up and the family transported her back home in the same hearse she arrived in.
