JOHOR BARU: It's time to get back to work following the recent reshuffling of the Johor state executive councillors, says Ling Tian Soon.
The Johor health and environment committee chairman said the focus should be on working to realise the state government’s aim to make Johor a developed state by 2030.
“It is time to move forward and focus on the work,” said Ling, who was the state health and unity committee chairman before the reshuffle.
He said this after attending the Harmoni Bersama (Together in Harmony) program with Johor unity, heritage and culture committee chairman K. Raven Kumar in conjunction with Chinese New Year at Fo Guang Shan-Hsingma temple on Saturday (Feb 17).
Echoing a similar sentiment was Raven Kumar, who said that excos who saw a change in their portfolios will continue the plans that were put into place.
“We will make sure that plans and work initiated previously are continued despite a change in those in charge of handling certain portfolios.
“If there is a need to make any changes, we will discuss it first, but we will try to stick to the plans as much as possible,” said Raven Kumar, who was previously the state tourism and environment committee chairman.
Ling and Raven also noted that they would have an official meeting on Monday (Feb 19) to share information about their portfolios that were switched in the reshuffle.
On Tuesday (Feb 13), Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi announced a reshuffle in the state excos, which saw former state education, information and communication committee chairman Norlizah Nor being dropped and replaced with Tanjung Surat assemblyman Aznan Tamin.
The move also saw changes in the portfolio of five exco members, including Ling and Raven Kumar.
