Police on the hunt for man seen clinging to moving lorry in Kulai

KULAI: Police here are looking for a man following his dangerous stunt of clinging onto the back of a moving trailer lorry at a highway near the Senai Industrial Area.

Kulai OCPD Supt Tan Seng Lee said police detected a video posted on Facebook at noon Friday (Feb 16).

“The investigation revealed that the incident occurred on Thursday (Feb 15) at 10am at KM35 Second-Link Expressway heading towards Senai.

“During the incident, the lorry driver had not noticed that a man was clinging to the back of the lorry that he was driving and only knew about the incident after his friend showed him the viral video,” he said in a statement on Saturday (Feb 17).

Supt Tan added that the 36-year-old driver had come forward to the Kulai district police to help the investigation.

The case is being investigated under Section 47(1) for illegally riding on a moving vehicle and obstructing the driver.

Earlier, a 17-second video was posted on Facebook showing a man wearing a black shirt with a bag holding on to a moving lorry on a highway.
