RM168mil allocated for road repairs in Johor

JOHOR BARU: A total of RM168mil has been approved by the Federal Government for road repairs in Johor.

Mentri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi thanked Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi for approving the infrastructure improvement projects to provide better comfort and safety for road users in the state.

“The approved projects include RM120mil to upgrade FT003 (Jalan Johor Baru - Mersing), a RM39mil project to repair roads damaged by the 2023-2024 north-east monsoon as well as road repairs along Jalan Felda Ulu Tebrau with a cost of RM9mil.

“We also discussed other road improvement projects for Johor during our courtesy call with the ministry in Kuala Lumpur,” he said in a Facebook post following the meeting on Monday (Feb 19).

He added that Deputy Works Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan and state works, transportation, infrastructure and communications committee chairman Mohamad Fazli Mohamad Salleh were also part of the meeting with Nanta and his team.

“I hope that the ministry will consider Johor’s other proposals in preparation for the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone and Visit Johor Year 2026 campaign,” said Onn Hafiz, who now helms the state’s tourism portfolio.

He added that all efforts to improve connectivity and road safety would ultimately benefit the people.
