Four-year-old dies after crushed by tree in Jempol


JEMPOL: A four-year-old boy died from injuries sustained after a tree fell on him at a recreational park in Batu Kikir near here.

District police chief Supt Hoo Chang Hook said the victim was playing with his nine-year-old sister in the children's pool and both were walking towards their father when the incident happened around 1pm.

"Both siblings were playing in the children's pool and they then started walking towards their father who was a short distance away.

"It was then the tree fell and crushed the deceased," he said, adding that the victim's sister sustained injuries and was sent to Tuanku Ampuan Najihah Hospital.

The case, he said, has been classified as sudden death.

Supt Hoo urged eye witnesses to contact the district police station at 06 4582222/253 to assist in the probe.
