King gets GOLD 1 number plate with RM1.5mil winning bid


PETALING JAYA: His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia is now the proud owner of the special edition "GOLD 1" number plate after a winning bid of RM1.5mil.

It marks the highest-ever amount paid for a number plate in the country, and the money will be channelled to the Federal Government.

Earlier, His Majesty granted an audience to Transport Minister Anthony Loke at Istana Negara, where Loke presented His Majesty with the number plate.

The "GOLD" number plate series was launched in conjunction with the 50th anniversary - or golden jubilee - of the Federal Territories.
