ABDUL Hadi Yusli experienced double happiness on his wedding day, reuniting with his mother after 24 years, Harian Metro reported.

Abdul Hadi and his twin, Abdul Hakim, saw their Indonesian mother, Mingga Bella Aprilensy, 49, for the first time since they were one and a half years old, during the wedding ceremony with his wife, Nurul Nabilah Sabuddin, 25, in Bagan Ajam, Penang, on Jan 20.

The emotional reunion was captured in a viral video shared by the bride on TikTok, touching the hearts of netizens. Abdul Hadi, a production crew member, said that his mother had left for Indonesia after separating from their father. They reconnected through Facebook when they were 15 years old.

“I messaged my mother who lives in Kalimantan, Indonesia, and asked if she still remembered us and she replied of course she did, as she gave birth to us.

Despite facing financial constraints and still being in school at the time, they kept in touch over the phone.

When Abdul Hadi got engaged in July 2023, he invited his mother to attend the wedding. She arrived with nine people, including her siblings and friends.

“I was very excited to see my mother. Feeling sad, happy and moved to see the face of a person that I have missed so much caused me to cry until my mother asked us not to cry anymore,” he said.

He acknowledged the challenges his parents faced and harboured no anger or resentment towards his mother for leaving, choosing to focus on the present and the future.
