PAS No 2 Tuan Ibrahim sends condolences to Taib Mahmud's family


PETALING JAYA: PAS deputy president Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man has extended his condolences to the family of former Yang di-Pertua Negeri of Sarawak Tun Abdul Taib Mahmud, who passed away early Wednesday (Feb 21).

"Received the sad news that Tun Abdul Taib Mahmud, the former Sarawak governor and chief minister, passed away this morning.

"My condolences to the family of Allahyarham and the people of Sarawak.

"May Allah continue to bless and put Allahyarham among the righteous and believers," he said in a social media post.

The Sarawak government also said a state funeral would be held for Taib at the Sarawak Legislative Assembly complex on Thursday.

The public can pay their last respects from 8am to 11.30am.

After that, his remains will be brought to Masjid Demak for prayers.

He will be laid to rest at the family burial ground at his private residence in Demak Jaya.

Abdul Taib, 87, passed away at a private hospital in Kuala Lumpur at 4.40am.
