Zayn Rayyan murder probe: No takers for RM20,000 reward yet, says Selangor top cop


PETALING JAYA: No one has come forward with information on the murder of six-year-old autistic boy Zayn Rayyan Abdul Matiin despite the RM20,000 reward offered, says Comm Datuk Hussein Omar Khan.

The Selangor police chief said police had been waiting for someone to come forward ever since the Malaysian Crime Prevention Foundation (MCPF) Selangor chapter made the offer earlier this month.

"Nonetheless, we are still investigating the case. We will provide an update if there is a new development," he told a press conference here on Friday (Feb 23).

It was reported that Selangor MCPF offered a RM20,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of Zayn Rayyan's murderer.

Selangor MCPF deputy chairman Datuk Seri A. Thaiveegan had said the reward was intended to expedite the delivery of justice in this case.

“This reward will be given through the Selangor police and has been approved by the MCPF chairman,” he said.

On Dec 5, Zayn Rayyan was reported missing in Damansara Damai near here and was found dead near a stream about 200m from his home at the Idaman Apartment the next day.

A post-mortem revealed injuries on his neck and body, leading to the conclusion that he had been killed
