Perak intent on seeing through 12MP projects

IPOH: Perak is focusing on 359 “physical” projects with a total allocation of RM1.28bil under Rolling Plan 4 (RP4) of the state’s 12th Malaysia Plan (12MP) this year.

Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad said these included the supply of information and communication technology (ICT) and other types of equipment, the purchase of buildings, new construction, maintenance and land acquisition.

“Meanwhile, there are 63 ‘non-physical’ projects worth RM267mil covering fund financing, ICT programmes and research and training programmes,” he said in a statement yesterday.

On Friday, he chaired the Perak State Development Action Council meeting, attended by the heads of state and federal departments, which aims to strengthen the monitoring of federal development projects.

Last year, Perak completed improvement and minor maintenance projects for 795 schools with an allocation of RM55.65mil, addressing Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s call to meet students’ needs.

Completed projects in 2023 include the Bagan Datuk Bridge construction, Bagan Datoh Polytechnic, SMK Bawong facilities, and Pangkor Island tourism upgrades.
