Proposal to revive Umno-PAS cooperation through Muafakat insincere, says Ahmad Zahid

CYBERJAYA: PAS' proposal to revive cooperation between the two parties via Muafakat Nasional (MN) is insincere, says the Umno president.

"We doubt their sincerity in making this offer as it was them, not UMNO, who withdrew from MN. They went against our agreements, which feels like a betrayal.

"I don't believe their offer is sincere," said Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi after the launch of Penggerak Wanita Risda (Pewaris) here on Sunday (Feb 25).

Earlier, PAS spiritual advisor Datuk Hashim Jasin expressed confidence that collaboration between PAS and Umno could be revived through MN.

MN is a collaborative effort established on Sept 14, 2019, subsequent to the Muslim Unity Gathering. – Bernama
