Missing girl in Inanam found safe

KOTA KINABALU: The six-year-old autistic girl who went missing from her Kampung Sugud home near Penampang on Friday (March 1) evening has been found and is safe.

Avelyn Alesha Jude was found by villagers from Kampung Sugud at 11.20pm, said the Fire and Rescue Department on Saturday (March 2).

The Department initially received the emergency call at 5.44pm after her mother found that she had disappeared from her home.

This led to a search by the mother and villagers, who called the Department; the operation had gone on until 9.10pm and had been postponed for the night before the Kampung Sugud residents found her.

“The villagers reported that she was safe and has been brought to the district hospital for check-up,” said the Department spokesman.
