School block in Kinabatangan razed in fire


KOTA KINABALU: A six-room block in a Kinabatangan school was completely burnt down during a fire on Monday (March 4).

However, no casualty was reported, said the Fire and Rescue Department.

The department received an emergency call at 5.10pm about the fire at an abandoned block of Sekolah Kebangsaan Suan Lamba.

“A team from Kinabatangan fire station was sent to the location about 43km away.

“The blaze completely destroyed the block. The fire was under control at 6.10pm and the operation ended at 6.47pm,” said the department spokesman.
