Man gets 5 years jail for hurting teenage daughter

KUALA PILAH: A 47-year-old man has been sentenced to five years in jail by a Session Court here for injuring his teenage daughter.

The incident has led to the 17-year-old receiving 12 stitches for her injuries.

An OKU (disabled) card holder, the father was arrested on Jan 24, after a video clip showing a man attacking a young girl with chairs and an ironing board, among others, went viral on the Internet.

He was subsequently charged with committing the offence at a house in Kota of Rembau near here around 11.45pm on Jan 23.

The charge was framed under Section 324 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt and read together with Section 326A of the same legislation.

It carries a jail term of up to 20 years, whipped or fined or any of the two punishments.
