PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) helicopter that made an emergency water landing near Pulau Angsa on Tuesday (March 5) has been recovered.
MMEA director-general Admiral Datuk Hamid Mohd Amin said the AW139 helicopter was found with the help of the company that maintains the aircraft, around 12.15am on Wednesday (March 6).
"It was brought to the Port Klang jetty before being taken to the Subang Maritime Air Station at 3.30am for further action.
"The helicopter is one of three AW139s placed under the Phoenix Squadron of our Air Division. We received it from the government in 2010," he said in a statement.

"It was also used in numerous search and rescue missions coordinated by the MMEA.
"This aircraft was involved in the rescue of five fishermen, who were stranded during bad weather at Pulau Batu Berantai, north-west of Pantai Remis, Jeram in 2022.
"It was also used by our Special Task and Rescue Team in helping the Indonesian Maritime Security Agency detain an Iran-registered tanker carrying out illegal oil transfers in Indonesian waters last year," he said.
The helicopter was also used in medical evacuations involving patients on islands and oil platforms in Malaysian waters, he added.
