PETALING JAYA: Four federal agencies have more liabilities than assets, which could impact their future commitment to the government, says the Auditor-General’s Report for 2022.
They are the Malaysian High-way Authority (LLM), PR1MA Corporation Malaysia, Perbadanan Hal Ehwal Angkatan Tentera (Perhebat) and Perbadanan Perwira Harta Malaysia (PPHM).
The report noted that LLM had liabilities amounting to RM1.765bil against assets of RM1.364bil.
As for PR1MA, it had total liabilities of RM5.746bil and RM5.621bil in assets.
In the case of Perhebat, it had liabilities amounting to RM45mil against assets worth RM32mil.
PPHM, the report said, had liabilities of RM73mil but assets of RM66mil.
Overall, the report said 126 out of 130 federal agencies have total assets of RM2.491bil against liabilities amounting to RM903.6mil.
The Auditor-General noted that assets of the 130 federal agencies increased by 3.4% to RM82.6mil in 2022 compared to 2021 (which went up from RM2.409bil to RM2.491bil).
The report noted that 126 federal agencies saw their assets going up in 2022 with only four having liabilities exceeding their assets.
However, liabilities for the 130 federal agencies also went up by RM119.89mil or 15.3% from RM783.71mil in 2021 to RM903.61mil in 2022.
