Over 10,000 cops received excellent service awards, says IGP


KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 10,413 members of the police force have received excellent service awards this year in recognition of their contributions and achievements.

Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain said this includes a total of 1,068 senior officers and 8,376 officers.

"Today, we celebrate a total of 42 members who received award certificates here," he said in officiating the award ceremony in Bukit Aman on Thursday (March 7).

Razarudin said that the award ceremony for the other recipients will be held at the department, contingent and formation level.

"Apart from the recognition of excellent service, this award is also one of the criteria that is taken into account in aspects of human resource management, including career advancement," he said.

He said, the award of the APC is on the basis of support for the promotion process and the opportunity to participate in courses either in the country or abroad.

"I hope that this recognition becomes a motivation to the recipients as well as other personnel to continue to provide the best service to the community," he said.

Razarudin added that he appreciated the National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) for presenting the Sahabat PTPTN cheque to the police Welfare Fund.

He also thanked the PTPTN for sponsoring RM10,000 worth of lucky draw prizes in the form of National Education Savings Scheme certificates to several lucky personnel who received awards on Thursday.
