DESPITE being a septuagenarian, veteran Tamil writer K. Rajamanikam faces no obstacle in publishing a new poetry book, reported Malaysia Nanban.

Titled Aivarul (Within Five People), the book was launched by MIC vice-president Datuk T. Murugiah.

During the launch at SJK(T) Sungkai, Rajamanikam said there were 144 modern poems and prose in the book, as well as six short stories and essays dedicated to his five children.

The works, he said, were meant to share his life lessons with his children as guidance and hopefully help other youngsters as well.

> The Tamil daily also reported that three female college students in Karnataka, India, were injured in an acid attack.

The students were getting ready for a university entrance exam when a man entered the college compound.

He approached one of the students, identified as Alina, and threw acid in her face, severely injuring her.

Two other students, identified as Archana and Amirtha, who were standing nearby were also injured.
