KUALA LUMPUR: His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, has graciously presented Proton X90 SUVs to Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain and senior officials of Istana Negara in recognition of their outstanding contributions and service.
The senior Istana Negara officials who received the gift were Grand Chamberlain of Istana Negara Datuk Azuan Effendy Zairakithnaini and Istana Negara religious officer Datuk Munir Md Salleh.
Also among those who received the gift were former Comptroller of the Royal Household of Istana Negara Mjr Jen Datuk Indera Zahari Mohd Ariffin and Kol (rtd) Datuk Nazim Mohd Alim.
According to a post on Sultan Ibrahim’s Facebook page, the gifts from His Majesty were presented by the Comptroller of the Royal Household of Istana Negara Datuk Zailani Hashim at Istana Negara yesterday, Bernama reported.
“His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim and the Royal Family of Johor, through the Royal Johor Foundations, have provided various contributions to assist those in need.
“His Majesty has also graciously donated 10,000 packages of free rice, weighing 10kg each, in Johor last year to assist the poor and low-income groups.
“In addition to the gifts and contributions through the Royal Johor Foundations to the general public, His Majesty also presented cars to officers who have shown dedication in carrying out their duties,” the post stated.
According to the post, His Majesty has long been presenting cars to government officers, district officers, medical doctors and nurses.In 2010, Sultan Ibrahim gifted 11 cars and eight high-powered motorcycles to the Royal Malaysia Police, while Proton Suprima cars were given to all district officers in Johor in 2018.
