Cops to call in organisers of Women's March

PETALING JAYA: The organisers of the Women’s March 2024 will be called in, says the police.

When contacted on Sunday (March 10), Dang Wangi OCPD Asst Comm Noor Dellhan Yahaya confirmed this.

"An investigation paper has been opened under Section 15 of the Peaceful Assembly Act 2012 and Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act 1955. The organisers will be called in," he said.

On Saturday (March 9), the Women’s March 2024 saw marchers walk from the Sogo shopping centre to Dataran Merdeka, as they called for gender equality and an end to gender-based violence.

The group also demanded for equal political participation at "all levels of decision-making" as well as gender-equal nationality laws.
