PONTIAN: A total of RM32mil has been allocated by the Johor government to build 328 new homes for the hard-core poor in the state this year.
Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi added that another RM22.7mil has been distributed to all 56 assemblyman constituencies to help repair 1,368 houses that are in dire condition.
“Our priority is the 2,647 hardcore poor household heads that we have identified as part of our ‘Keluarga Angkat’ programme.
We hope this aid can help provide them with better comfort and help those whose houses have been repaired in preparation for the coming Hari Raya Aidilfitri,” he said.
He said after the Baik Pulih Rumah Perdana 2024 programme officiation ceremony in Kampung Serkat, here, on Sunday (March 10).
Onn Hafiz added that the programme is organised by the Johor Islamic Religious Council, where RM8mil has been allocated to repair 444 houses in 56 constituency areas.
“Each assemblyman will receive RM100,000 to repair six houses in their area; each repair cost should not exceed RM18,000,” he added.
Johor Islamic Religious Affairs Committee chairman Mohd Fared Mohd Khalid and Kukup assemblyman Datuk Jefridin Atan also attended the programme.
