Model arrested for allegedly murdering her boyfriend

CYBERJAYA: A part-time model has been arrested for allegedly murdering her photographer.

Kuala Langat OCPD Supt Ahmad Ridhwan Mohd Nor said they were alerted about the incident at around 9.41am on Monday (March 11).

"We received a report from a doctor who works at the Cyberjaya Hospital that they received a man who was brought there in an unconscious state.

"The victim was allegedly brought from a private clinic. The doctor performed Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for 30 minutes, but there was no response or heartbeat detected," he said in a statement on Tuesday (March 12).

He said the victim, who is also the part-time model’s lover, was pronounced dead at around 7.25am, and the victim had injuries to his left and right wrists believed to have been caused by a knife.

"We immediately opened an investigation paper and arrested a 26-year-old woman near the hospital on the same day.

"Based on our checks, the suspect was a former medical student who works as a part-time model," he said, adding that the suspect had no prior record.

He said investigations revealed that the suspect and victim were a couple who had been together for at least three years.

"The motive for the case is believed to be jealousy, as the victim was allegedly unfaithful.

"The victim has been identified as a freelance photographer," he said, adding that investigations revealed that the suspect was the one who brought the victim to hospital.

Supt Ahmad Ridhwan said the case has been classified as murder, and the suspect has been remanded for six days to assist further investigations.

He advised the public to refrain from speculating on the case, which could disturb further investigations.

Anyone with information on the case should contact the Kuala Langat police operations control room at 03-3187 2222.
