Two men wanted by police to assist in gang robbery case in Teluk Intan

IPOH: Police are on the lookout for two men to assist in a gang robbery case at Jalan Changkat Jong, Teluk Intan.

Hilir Perak OCPD Asst Comm Ahmad Adnan Basri said the two men are believed to be in their early 30s, heavyset and about 175cm tall.

ACP Ahmad Adnan said the two men are believed to have committed the offence on March 6 at about 12.30am.

"The victims included a 48-year-old cook and his wife, 41," he said in a statement on Thursday (March 14).

"They were just outside their rented room when two men approached them and threatened to hurt them if they didn't open the door," he said, adding that the victims lodged a report on March 8.

"After the door was opened, the suspects ransacked the place and found RM32,000 that was kept in a bag," he added.

ACP Ahmad Adnan said both victims were unharmed during the incident.

"The suspects tried to drag one of them into a car but were unsuccessful," he added.

When asked why the victims made the report several days later, ACP Ahmad Adnan said they panicked and were afraid to be harassed by the suspects.

"They only lodged a report after being advised to by the restaurant owner.

"The case is being investigated under Section 395 of the Penal Code, and those found guilty are liable to be jailed up to 20 years and whipping," he said.

"Those with information on the incident are to contact investigating officer Insp Hasryman Osman on 05-623 3969 or 011-6331 9773," he added.
