Man who assaulted three women arrested in Ampang

KUALA LUMPUR: In a fit of rage, a man attacked three women after harsh words were exchanged during a fight.

Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Azam Ismail said that the attack occurred on March 13 in Taman Kosas where three Indonesian women aged between 24 and 50 were assaulted by a 39-year-old Indonesian man.

"The suspect had brought a metal rod to the scene and attacked the complainant, her sister and mother, leading to injuries to the head and face.

"At around 3.45pm on the same day, police arrested the suspect in the same area where the attack happened and seized the weapon used during the attack.

It is believed that the suspect attacked the victims after they had uttered harsh words after being let go from their jobs," he said in a statement on Saturday (March 16).

The suspect, a shop attendant, tested negative for drugs and has been remanded until March 17.
