PETALING JAYA: Petaling Street in Kuala Lumpur is one of the coolest streets in the world, according to global magazine Time Out.

The street stands at number six among 30 streets in the world with first position going to High Street in Melbourne, Australia; followed by Hollywood Road in Hong Kong and East Eleven in Austin, United States.

The magazine said the streets were the heart of local life and had listed down the world’s coolest streets that were worth a stroll. It said ranking was based on best avenues, thoroughfares, backstreets and boulevards.

Time Out’s contributor from Kuala Lumpur, Ng Su Ann, said Petaling Street has experienced a renaissance with Kuala Lumpur’s oldest temples and colonial shophouses housing the newest dining and drinking joints.
