MELAKA: A mentally disabled TikToker donated RM2,000 of her earnings from selling instant noodle packets to a sickly toddler.
Nor Komariah Mohd Khalid Lourdes Lio donated the money to the 35-year-old mother of the child, Noreen Ismail at the latter's home in Taman Desa Baru, here.
Duyong assemblyman Datuk Mohd Noor Helmy Abdul Halem also witnessed the handing over of the financial aid on Monday (March 18).
Nor Kamariah, 40, said she wanted to do her part for 18-month-old Nur Khayla Azzahra Mohamed Khairul Idhham who was diagnosed with Biliary Atresia since birth.
Biliary atresia was a condition in infants in which the bile ducts outside and inside the liver were scarred and blocked.
"I saw a video seeking funds for the child on social media and decided to collect the money for her.
"I set aside the earnings from my sales for a month before handing over it to the child's mother, today," she said.
Nor Kamariah was also categorised under the hardcore poor category and receives monthly aid from the state.
She also currently seeking treatment for her mental illness and often posts hilarious videos of her on TikTok.
Not Kamariah said her donation to the child would not stop with RM2,000 and she will continue to give part of her revenue.
Meanwhile, Noreen said she never expected that a handicapped person and a hardcore poor would come forward to help her daughter.
"Her donation is so meaningful, especially during the month of Ramadan," she said.
Noreen said she needs RM250,000 to enable her daughter to undergo corrective surgery at a hospital in China.
She also unveiled that RM72,000 has so far been collected through donations and contributions from non-governmental organisations.
"My girl needs to undergo the surgery as soon as possible," she said.
