PUTRAJAYA: Let the police investigate the recent controversy involving socks sold at convenience store chain KK Super Mart, says Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.

"Multiple police reports have been made and it will be handled by them," the Home Minister told a press conference after an event here on Tuesday (March 19).

KK Super Mart and the vendor that supplied the socks have since apologised.

Earlier Tuesday, His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia also said stern action must be taken against those found culpable in the controversial sock issue.

Sultan Ibrahim said socks being sold with the word "Allah" on them was a grave issue as it offends Muslims and threatens national harmony.
