Don't go overboard on socks issue, says Zahid

NIBONG TEBAL: All parties must not go overboard when commenting on the controversial sock issue and should stop raising the matter, says Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

The Deputy Prime Minister pointed out that the management of KK Super Mart had already apologised.

"It is better we do not raise the issue any more. We must not go overboard and they have already apologised.

"We assume that they were unaware (of it) and did not intend (to offend anyone)," he said at an event at Al-Amin Mosque in Simpang Tiga here on Wednesday (March 20) night.

He said investigations by the police after raiding the vendor company showed that it was not the fault of the factory in Batu Pahat and that the socks were imported from China.
