PETALING JAYA: Politicians who continue harping on 3R (race, religion and royalty) issues should also be investigated, says Datuk Ameer Ali Mydin.
The Bumiputra Retailers Association president, who was commenting on the recent socks controversy, said politicians were not exempt from the law, pointing out the cases of two social media users who were swiftly charged for making insensitive posts on the issue.
"Politicians should know better than to make things worse as it can make people even angrier," he told The Star on Saturday (March 23).
Ameer, who is also Mydin managing director, said the individual who first found the socks should have reported it to the KK Super Mart management or the police.

"Any responsible Malaysian should make a report instead of putting it up on social media.
"Let authorities investigate the matter. The law will take its course.
"What is wrong is wrong. We have laws to follow for appropriate action to be taken," he added.
This comes after Umno Youth chief Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh took a hard stance on the issue.
KK Super Mart and the vendor that supplied the socks, Xin Jian Chang Sdn Bhd, have since apologised.
However, Muhamad Akmal said the apology was insufficient and Umno Youth wanted a stronger gesture of atonement from the company, failing which it would take "drastic" action. He also demanded that KK Super Mart put up banners at all its outlets nationwide.
An apology note pertaining to the controversial socks issue has subsequently been put up at all electronic displays and cash registers at KK Super Mart outlets nationwide.
