Johor MB offers helping hand to road accident victim

KULAI: Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi was at hand to help a road accident victim at the North-South Expressway (NSE) near here.

Onn Hafiz was on his way back to Johor Baru from a programme in Kluang, on Sunday (March 24) afternoon when he saw the victim lying face-down on the expressway.

Johor investment, trade, consumer affairs and human resources committee chairman Lee Ting Han, who was with him at the time, uploaded photos on Facebook of the mentri besar helping the victim while waiting for the ambulance to arrive.

Lee also wished the victim, who was rushed to Hospital Temenggong Seri Maharaja Tun Ibrahim for medical attention, a speedy recovery.

Kulai OCPD Supt Tan Seng Lee said the crash took place at KM25.3 southbound of NSE at around 5pm on Sunday.

"A motorcyclist clashed with a car that was driven by a 20-year-old man.

“This caused the 24-year-old male motorcyclist to sustain injuries to his legs, hands and face,” he said, adding that the car driver was unhurt.

The accident was classified under Rule 10 of the Road Traffic Rules 1959 (LN 166/59), said Supt Tan.
