Overturned trailer northbound on NSE causes traffic snarl heading to Menora Tunnel from Ipoh

The right norhtbound lane on the NSE near the Menora Tunnel was opened to traffic at about 8.45am, PLUS said on X (formerly known as Twitter).

IPOH: An overturned trailer at KM262.9 northbound of the North-South Expressway has caused a massive traffic snarl between the Ipoh Utara toll plaza and the Menora Tunnel.

According to PLUS Malaysia Bhd on X (formerly known as Twitter), all lanes on the road were initially blocked off by the trailer at about 4.50am on Sunday (March 24), with the right lane opened to traffic at about 8.45am.

Perak Fire and Rescue Department assistant operations director Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad said the trailer was carrying scheduled waste and its load had spilled onto the road following the incident.

"Works to clean up the road are now ongoing.

"The driver of the trailer is not trapped in the vehicle," he said.
