Trans­ women teach uncouth lawyer lesson

A LAWYER in Tamil Nadu, India, was beaten up by a group of transgender women for badmouthing them and had to be rescued by the police, Makkal Osai reported.

The district collector apparently invited the women to gather at the Ramanathapuram district office where an awareness campaign was being held with the goal of achieving 100% voter registration and turnout in the district.

While the women were waiting for the event to start, a lawyer who was passing by made some derogatory remarks and they attacked him.The police had to rescue the man and send him to the hospital for treatment.

The district collector, who came to know about the incident, promised to take action against the lawyer.
