Elderly man found dead after going missing while hiking in Shah Alam


SHAH ALAM: An elderly man who went missing while hiking near Persiaran Shorea, Section U16, here was found dead.

Shah Alam OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim said the man had gone out hiking at around 9.30am on Tuesday (March 26).

"Based on our checks the man had called his children when he could not find his way back.

"The Bukit Jelutong Fire and Rescue Department immediately started a search and rescue mission but failed to track him down," he said in a statement on Wednesday (March 27).

He said the 64-year-old man was found dead by a member of the public at around 7.50pm on Wednesday.

"The body has been sent to the Shah Alam Hospital for further action.

"We have classified the case as Sudden Death," he said, urging anyone with information on the case to contact Insp Saipol Paizi at 012-578 1435.
