'We must have the working spirit,' says PM when asked about extra holiday for Raya


PUTRAJAYA: There may not be an additional holiday during the Hari Raya week.

"We must have the working spirit," Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said at a buka puasa event at Bulatan Dataran Putra here on Thursday (March 28).

He was asked if the government would designate Friday (April 12) as a special holiday as the first two days of Hari Raya Aidilfitri are likely to fall on Wednesday and Thursday (April 10 and 11).

Earlier on Thursday, Anwar officiated a donation ceremony where RM110,000 was given to provide aid for the needy.

The funds were donated by various bodies, including the Inland Revenue Board (LHDN).

The Majlis Iftar Madani event was organised by the Islamic Development Department.
